## Attendees

- Danielle Robinson - Executive Director CS&S
- Linda Green - Director of Fiscal Sponsorship CS&S
- Esther M. Jackson - Advisory Committee
- Julie Faure-Lacroix - Advisory Committee first 30 min
- Jan Ainali - Advisory Committee
- Martin Magdinier - Project Manager

## Discussions

### Advisory Committee

**Change in advisory committee membership**

- Antonin left the Advisory Committee. See [PR #7020](https://github.com/OpenRefine/OpenRefine/pull/7020) for documents that needs to be updated.
- Jan is the new Advisory Committee chair.

**Renewing the Advisory Committee**
The group discussed how we want to renew the advisory committee

- Setting terms for advisory committee members, for example two years, renewable three times
- Staggering terms between members so the committee does not renew all at once.
- Creating a matrix of skills and community we want to see represented in the advisory committee
  - OpenRefine Developer
  - Journalists/data journalists
  - Librarians
  - Researchers
  - Wikimedia
  - Instructors and trainers
  - GLAM
  - Data science

- Esther started to contact respondents to the 2024 user survey who indicated interest in being on the advisory committee

Next:

- Publish a blogpost announcing the recruitment of a new member.
- Ask the community who they think we should be talking to.

### Wikimedia Foundation Funding discussion

- This is a continuation of [last week's discussion regarding WMF Funding.](https://forum.openrefine.org/t/november-28-2024-advisory-committee/1940#p-5814-wmf-funding-4)
- Martin asked if OpenRefine could do contract work via CS&S.
- CS&S confirmed it is possible, and the infrastructure is ready.
- We also need to assess if it impacts our ability to apply for other grants.

### Grant status: ORefine: 23 Wikimedia

Following a conversation Dec 6, between Martin and WMSE we agreed on the following for spending the remaining budget.

- USD500 for a [diff post](https://diff.wikimedia.org/) written by a trainer from the cohort. Martin will send an email to present the opportunity and mention it during the Dec 10 webinar.
- USD 2000 to WMSE for their extra work. We need an amendment to the contract between CS&S and WMSE.

WMSE will prepare the narrative for the report.

### Grant status: ORefine: 21 SVCF - 2021-237149 OR for Everyone

- The diversity grant is ending Dec 31, 2024.
- Martin will prepare the final report and share it with CS&S for review.
- CS&S financial report will be ready around mid-January.

### Year End Blogpost

Martin will coordinate with CS&S and Arydhia to approve their SOW. This is a follow-up from [last week's conversation](https://forum.openrefine.org/t/november-28-2024-advisory-committee/1940#p-5814-year-end-impact-blog-post-7).

### Developer Hiring

- Job posting is [published here](https://openrefine.org/blog/2024/11/25/openrefine-developer-role)
- So far, we have received five candidates
- We need to do more advertising
  - CS&S will share within their network and list it on their website

### Martin's contract renewal.

Linda will work to renew Martin’s contract using the new company name.

About the developer hiring, I think it could be worth opening an issue on GitHub and pinning it, so that people who are currently active there see that. I have personally notified elebitzero and @Sunil_Natraj ([OpenRefine developer job · Issue #4 · wetneb/hello-elebitzero · GitHub](https://github.com/wetneb/hello-elebitzero/issues/4)).

It could also be worth posting it on [https://www.fossjobs.net/](https://www.fossjobs.net/)
