# Is it possible to get the date precision from Wikibase?

While adding the data from the reconciled columns we can get directly the date value when a property related to dates are selected.

But these values doesn't have the precision of the added dates.

Is it possible to get the date precision from Wikibase as listed in this [page](https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Help:Dates)

As far as I know that's not currently possible. @antonin_d may be able to confirm

Indeed not, that's a feature that would need adding to the reconciliation service:

It would be less direct or easy, but couldn't it be done by fetching the API or a SPARQL query?

Almost certainly yes - I'm a bit rusty on the Wikibase API/SPARQL but if anyone wants to give it a go it is almost certainly possible to do that way
