Usage of goal post

The group discussed how the community can take ownership of the goalpost. Here is a summary of the conversation

Martin can reiterate that the goalpost can serve as a "parking lot" for ideas that need consensus or further work to advance them. The community should feel free to add any items that fit that definition. This approach allows the goalpost to clearly identify ongoing conversations and distinguish them from the noise of mailing lists or GitHub discussions.

Then resources can be identified to help a goal move forward. This can start with including new items in the feature ranking surveys to assess interest or by pooling resources to assist them in taking the next steps. For example, if an issue requires scoping, one person can dedicate time (volunteering or through a grant) to engage with the community, define high-level requirements and success criteria. The community can then decide how to proceed based on the collected information.
