Budget
Martin shared an updated budget and cash flow projection. The Managing Director role is funded until September 30. The budget will be reviewed next week with CS&S.
The Advisory Committee and Martin will define what we want to achieve by the end of September.
Figma Renewal
We need to decide if we renew the Figma license. The decision to use it was made in 2023 Proposed Workflows for Design contributions and Collaboration - #6 by lozanaross, and it is referenced in the Designer documentation OpenRefine design system | OpenRefine
Currently the Figma project
- is locked, and all the work in Figma is view-only until we restore the account.
- is not updated with 3.10 icons (see Add icons to operations in column menu by wetneb · Pull Request #7060 · OpenRefine/OpenRefine · GitHub)
- contains only guidelines, but not reusable Figma components to build interfaces
Martin emailed the OpenRefine Designer mailing list to assess the impact of moving to the free plan. The assumption is that, if we move to the free plan, assets will be read-only; we should be able to re-enable the subscription if we need to update the material.
Jan suggested we migrate to Penpot using the Figma Penpot export component.
Community call
The group reviewed the idea list, and Martin will see if we can get speakers for the following topics
- Developer AMA
- Reconciliation Service overview (Wikimedia, Getty, GND, VIAF, csv/local)
- Wikimedia training session
Community newsletter
Using Hubpost, Martin plans to send a newsletter in August to
- promote the survey
- share the July Community call recording
- potentially promote the next community call.
