All I am saying is that these platforms now are political tools for a specific ideology and if we don't want to be seen as supporters of it to stay unpolitical (regardless of what politics that is) staying is no longer an option.

@Ainali I agree that social platforms can be used for many things: Science, Research, Politics, Cats. I think if a platform itself has specific wording within it's terms and conditions that don't foster a sense of fairness and equality, then certainly we should look into that. Otherwise, if you are talking about decorum on a platform, or users choices to use a platform a certain way, that concerns users traits and preferences, not the platform itself.

@Martin Yes, I think we can, and where we might stipulate something along the lines of my above paragraph. But I don't think we want to say anything about perceived decorum on platforms for any agendas, political or otherwise, that would be non-sensical. We would need to be clear about a platform's terms and conditions, not its users traits or preferences to promote anything, especially any ideology.

To only look at de jure is a very narrow look when de facto can be very different. For example, it may not be stated in the terms and conditions which posts the algorithm favor, how moderation works in practice nor the vision the leadership expresses for the platform, but they all matter very much in terms of making a platform political or not.
