@Martin, @thadguidry, (please pardon me that I have tagged only two members and mentioned the name around this reply as the new user has the provision to tag only two).
It's my pleasure to meet you all here.
I found the blog post of Developer and Contributor's Engagement Role at OpenRefine. As soon as I saw the post, I got extremely happy and excited as well since I am passionate about contributing and collaborating with Open Source. I have worked with RISC-V International(Non-profit Organization), Linux Foundation Engineering Team, OCaml Open Source Community and The Alan Turing Institute. I have gained a lot of experience from these and also helped these communities to maintain and scale effectively their repositories to be easily accessible by the end-users. With this mission, I thought to apply for this role too.
I have also shared my CV containing all my related works and the notable commits on the hiring mail as mentioned by @Martin and also shared with Antonin as I got his mail from GitHub. I recently applied as the position related information got reposted on Twitter as well as OpenRefine LinkedIn page around December 19, 2024
But I think, this position is already being filled by Sunil Natraj from Antonin's nomination on November 27, 2024 (2 days after the blog post went live). So I guess the result is already being declared. I wanted to know if the position is still open.
Thank you all, I've invited Sunil Natraj to the organization.
As suggested by @Martin I think it's worth keeping the discussion about the process to this other thread: Improving the onboarding process for new contributors - #12 by Martin
Thanks & With Best Regards
-Jay
