Upload structured data on Wikimedia Commons via PAWS

Hello everyone,

For a very long time now (since the beginning of summer probably), I’ve been trying to upload edits on Wikimedia Commons. My goal is to add structured data to images I uploaded thanks to Pattypan.

Every time, I try to upload the edits, the structured data are added for only the first file, and the pourcentage of “perform Wikibase edits” is frozen to 0 %.

So, as a way to avoid the problem, I wanted to install Open Refine on my computer. But, I connot reconciliate the data with wikidata. A pop-up indicates “127.0.0.1:3333 indique Guess Typs query failed error : java.io.IOException: HTTP erro 407 : authenticationrequired for URL/en/API”

And if I try to create a project with Wikimedia Commons extensions, the problem is “127.0.0.1:3333 indique Unable to parse preview”.

Then, if I try anyway to create the project, though the preview was impossible, the pourcentage of memory usage stay the same. Nonetheless, I can see that Open Refine is still working :

But the “get-importing-job-status” is blocked, it repeats itself.

Any help or advise is welcomed, I am quite lost. @Nicolas_VIGNERON you said something about the version of Open Refine on PAWS, but do you have an advice for Open Refine on my computer ? I checked this https://www.wikimediastatus.net/, but no more incidents seem to be reported …

Thanks a lot

Hello @Mtv84,

Try to check it out with the latest version of OpenRefine (3.9.5) and pre-release version of Wikimedia Commons extension (0.1.5 - prerelease).

I thnak you very much for this advice. Nevertheless, the problem stay the same, as a pop-up appears :

And then, I am blocked here :

Which is weird, because the pourcentage is never the same (sometimes 5%, smetimes 8%, sometimes 13%, etc.)

I had the similar issue and got solved with this new versions.. Could you try it out with a category with a less number of images..

@Mtv84 Is it possible to share the dataset? I can take a look as well.

Also, PAWS now has the latest 3.9.5 version deployed.

Hello,

The category I’m actually working on is less than 200 images. Do you think that’s already too much ?

Thanks

Indeed, thanks. But if I try to upload edits on Wikibase, the upload stays the same

Which is, to me, very weird …

I’ve finally solved a part of my problem : I can now upload images from Wikimedia on OpenRefine. I can add structured data and create a wikibase edit. But when I want to add it to Commons, I am blocked, which the same on PAWS.

I’ve come to the conclusion that the problem is linked to the version of OpenRefine, and not my computer. On both my computer and PAWS I use de lastest version of OpenRefine, which is 3.9.5
