Advisory Committee Recruitment

Code of Conduct Status

Antoine joined to discuss the status of the Code of Conduct committee, which has been dormant for about 12 months. The group discussed what would be a good reporting frequency from the CoC to the community, and because of the low volume of requests, we agreed to once per year.

  • Antoine raised a potential issue with the distribution list at code-of-conduct@openrefine.org
  • Emails are published on the interface but not distributed to their member

Next

  • Martin will reach out to CS&S since the distribution list is managed under their Google Workspace plan.
  • Once Antoine validates who are the active members of the CoC, he will update the CoC page

Governance Status

  • We discussed the status of the PR #7023
  • This has been on hold while Martin prioritized hiring and fundraising efforts.
  • Agreement from the Advisory Committee that it would be best to prioritize closing this PR.

Next

  • Martin will open a separate PR to isolate consensual changes, we will then rebase #7023 to make the volume of changes more digestible for the community.
  • Martin to prepare the PR by the end of February
  • As discussed in the CoC part, Antoine will open a separate PR to update the CoC

Funding Status

  • Esther did not investigate further the creation of an OpenRefine User Group with the Wikimedia Foundation
  • Martin reviewed the list of founders identified by LJ and CS&S and commented in the shared document
  • Martin also identified floss.fund as a new funder.
  • Julie mentioned we are missing a one-page document to present the project to potential partners and funder.

Next

  • AC to review the list of potential funders and indicate if they have a relationship with them
  • Martin will follow up with CS&S next week to debrief the CZI event.
  • Martin to work with LJ on a one page document.

Developer Hiring

The shortlisted candidate completed their technical interview. Antonin will share his feedback this week. Martin asked the AC to

  • Review the draft offer we will present to the selected candidate.
  • Provide availability for last round of interview
