Discussion
This is an introduction call as Kena Mayberry is joining the CS&S team. We conducted a round table for each participant to introduce themselves and their relationship with OpenRefine.
We discussed the role of the Advisory Committee within the project:
- The advisory committee is not involved in the project technical roadmap but can influence it based on the funding we seek.
- The Advisory committee mostly focuses on the operational health of the organization including strategic planning (mission, vision, values), applying for funding, grant reporting, hiring, supervision of paid project staff, and building relationships with partner organizations.
- The advisory committee reminded CS&S that the Advisory title is confusing our community.
We mentioned the current work to clarify OpenRefine's Mission, Vision, and Values and the organization of our first in-person meeting last month, OpenRefine 2024 Barcamp.
