Renewing the Advisory Committee
The group discussed how we want to renew the advisory committee
- Setting terms for advisory committee members, for example two years, renewable three times
- Staggering terms between members so the committee does not renew all at once.
- Creating a matrix of skills and community we want to see represented in the advisory committee
- OpenRefine Developer
- Journalists/data journalists
- Librarians
- Researchers
- Wikimedia
- Instructors and trainers
- GLAM
- Data science
- Esther started to contact respondents to the 2024 user survey who indicated interest in being on the advisory committee
Next:
- Publish a blogpost announcing the recruitment of a new member.
- Ask the community who they think we should be talking to.
Wikimedia Foundation Funding discussion
- This is a continuation of last week's discussion regarding WMF Funding.
- Martin asked if OpenRefine could do contract work via CS&S.
- CS&S confirmed it is possible, and the infrastructure is ready.
- We also need to assess if it impacts our ability to apply for other grants.
