Discussions
Birdaro and Advisory Meeting Schedule Change
Julie, Esther, and Rory are participating in the Birdaro program from September to December 2025 (more details to be published soon).
Because the program schedule conflicts with the Advisory Committee calls, meetings will be moved to Fridays at the usual time.
Budget Review
- Martin presented the new financial dashboard prepared by CS&S using their updated accounting system.
- Updated financial projections were shared.
- Martin suggested leveraging discussions happening through the Birdaro program to reflect on what the community needs in terms of paid/funded positions versus volunteer leadership, particularly if the 2026 budget is smaller.
Wikimedia North America Conference
The Advisory Committee approved financial support for Rory to attend the Wikimedia North America Conference. Costs will be covered by the remaining EOSS-5 funds, which must be spent by December 31.
Contract Review
- Martin’s and Rory’s contracts end on October 31. The Advisory Committee voted to extend them until February 28, 2026, in line with the current project funding.
- Annual reviews for Martin and Rory will take place in December 2025.
OpenRefine Merchandising Store
- CS&S completed the Stripe connection.
- We are waiting for CS&S to redirect the domain store.openrefine.org to the shop.
- A draft blogpost to announce the store is available here: blog post to announce the store by magdmartin · Pull Request #488 · OpenRefine/openrefine.org · GitHub
- Martin created a promo code so community members can order stickers at cost when representing OpenRefine at events.
- Martin finalized the banner and messaging for promoting the store on social media.

- So far, only 3 responses have been received for the post-event survey.
TODO:
