Hi everyone! As was shared in this previous post, @DaxServer, U/Dnshitobu, and myself are working towards creating an officially-recognized OpenRefine Wikimedia User Group. We are doing this work so that the OpenRefine Wikimedia User Group may apply for funding through the Wikimedia General Support Fund.
One of the application questions for this fund asks the applicant for a strategic plan. Currently, there is no OpenRefine strategic plan (though we do have Goal Posts based on the 2024 prioritization survey), nor is there an OpenRefine Wikimedia User Group strategic plan.
Based on how we imagine the Wikimedia Group would operate, it seems as if this group should create a strategic plan that is independent from any OpenRefine strategic plan. However, since OpenRefine does not itself have a strategic plan, there is an opportunity to work on both of these plans in tandem.
Do you have an interest in participating in the creation of:
-
A strategic plan for the OpenRefine Wikimedia User Group
-
A strategic plan for OpenRefine
Do you think that these two plans should be linked in some way?
Thanks for your thoughts!
