The meeting was in two parts:
- The first 30 minutes were an update with Ron CS&S CFO with Julie, Jan, and Martin,
- The last 30 minutes were only the Advisory Committee. Esther joined late only for this part.
Discussion with CS&S
Finance update
- We are still pending IRS documentation to receive the FLOSS/Fund donation. Ron is following up regularly with the IRS.
- Ron and Martin discuss how CS&S can share contact information for individual donations from OpenRefine donorbox page. Ron will share the information monthly with Martin as part of the monthly budget process.
- Ron informed the group that budget season is coming up. He will share the template in the coming weeks.
Fundraising Status
- Martin submitted his application to the Funding opportunity: Sovereign Tech Fellowship application (community coordination and governance)
- We identified Free and Open Source Software Sustainability Fund | OTF, which is due May 7, 2026. We self-disqualified last year (Grant opportunity: Open Technology Fund) and then received feedback that we should have applied.
- Nominate OSS for Funding — Open Source Endowment is also on Martin's radar.
Advisory Committee Meeting (without CS&S)
- The first call is confirmed for April 23. Martin will start the communication with the community.
- Martin provided a status update regarding the on-going wikimedia reconciliation issue #7731 and T419770. Martin will prepare a document providing an overview of the situation and share it with different stakeholders for coordination. The document is now available here.
- The group reviewed and discussed upcoming Wikimedia and Wikidata policy RFCs, specifically
