Discussion
Grant Status
OpenRefine was not selected for funding for EOSS-6. CZI did not provide feedback. There were over 800 applications in total
We are still waiting for the answer from the Data Empowerment Fund.
Antonin raised a funding opportunity from Wikimedia Deutschlandfor software contributions that feature the Wikidata Rest API (anything from mobile apps to desktop apps to websites or services) that provide value not only to the Wikimedia community but also to broader audiences. The submission deadline is April 21, and the project should be completed by December 1st, 2024. OpenRefine cannot apply directly since the funding is open to Wikimedia affiliates only. Martin will contact Wikimedia Sweden and the Wikibase Stakeholder Group to see if they are interested in the call and how we can support them. See the thread
Wikibase Stakeholder Group
Antonin suggested that Martin attend the Wikibase Stakeholder Group call to represent OpenRefine. Antonin will do the introduction.
Mission Vision Value
The advisory committee selected Bocoup, and we publicly announced the project

Registration is open, and we have started an outreach campaign to invite contributors.
Budget and Grant Projection
Martin presented a budget update based on the recent spending commitment and CS&S financial report for the month of February 2024.
- Grant end date: December 2024
- We do not plan to ask for a no-cost extension for this grant since it is already overdue.
- We have USD 42,188, which is not allocated.
- We plan to use part of the fund for the BarCamp in Berlin.
- Once we finalize the BarCamp budget, we will need to decide what to do with the remaining funds.
- Grant end date: December 2024
- We never asked for a no-cost extension for this project
- We have USD 63,000.00 currently not allocated, the initial grant application identified the following
- Project Director: USD 28,000.00 (the position is currently covered via the 2021 EOSS-Diversity grant)
- Developer: USD 15,000.00
- Documentation: USD 20,000.00
- Some resources initially identified may not be needed for the completion of the grant.
- The remaining funds can be used to support the release manager position in 2025 via a no-cost extension.
- The advisory committee did not decide on the usage of the fund.
2023 Wikimedia Foundation: The funds have been fully allocated, so no budget decision needs to be made.
General Unrestricted: USD 16,214.88 coming from donations. The recurring monthly donation covers our subscription to Discourse and Figma. We have no plan to use the remaining funds.
