Installation Issues with OpenRefine on Windows 10 – Need Assistance

Hello OpenRefine Community,

I've been a regular user of OpenRefine for quite some time now, and it's been an essential tool in my workflow. Recently, I tried installing OpenRefine on a new Windows 10 system, but I'm running into issues that I haven't encountered before.

On my other Windows 10 machine, the installation went smoothly without any problems. However, with this new setup, the process seems to stall, and I'm getting error messages that I haven't seen before. I've tried reinstalling Java, running the installer as an administrator, and even checked my system's compatibility, but the issue persists. When I was checking about this I came across these resources/articles Can't get OpenRefine to install (Windows) generative AI tutorial and as per them I tried troubleshooting but didn't get any solution.

Is there something I'm missing? Has anyone else faced similar challenges while installing OpenRefine on Windows 10? I'd appreciate any guidance or troubleshooting steps you could offer.

Thanks in advance for your support!

Best Regards

On Windows, instead of worrying about your local Java installation or changing it, you might try to download and install OpenRefine with embedded Java, which should be the blue download button for you on our download page Download | OpenRefine
