Debian package update
Following last week conversaiton we received clarification regarding usage in OpenRefine in Debian 2025 - #3 by apo
We will not renew the budget for the Debian package support for the following reasons:
- It is difficult to justify the budget if we can’t explain the number of users
- We have little control over how OpenRefine is a Debian package; they are only packages' major version and not patches.
- Focusing on the Docker version may be more beneficial to the community as another way to easily install OpenRefine.
2026 goals
Martin shared the following update regarding the community
- OpenRefine will not participate in GSoC in 2026
- We want to run the 2-year survey
- We want to run a new barcamp and need to decide on the format.
- We want to continue recruitment for the AC.
- Martin will close the 2025 fundraising campaign and publish a post-mortem.
- Martin will prepare the EOSS-5 final report by Feb 27.
