Fundraising
Martin continues to work with LJ. Goals are
- To build a relationship with funders in 2025
- Create a year-end campaign to outline 2024 success and present 2025 goals.
The goal of the year-end campaign is to outline its success and thank those who supported it (volunteers, donors, etc.) while publishing content targeting institutional funders. We will include a line for financial donations, but this is not the campaign's first intent. Results from this campaign will inform how we prepare for institutional fundraising in 2025.
Timeline is the following
- By December 10, publish a 2024 year-in-review blog post (impact report) presenting successes. The target audience is the OpenRefine community with an intention to share it with the institutional funder. Before that date, we need to publish the following supporting materials.
- 2024 survey results
- job posting
- update on Mission Vision Value statement.
- December 16, emailing and social media campaign to announce the report
- December 20, more personalized thank you messages to key participants
- January 10, publication of the year ahead goal. This document will target institutional funders more specifically.
Advisory Committee Renewal
- Forum post: Opening Dec 12 and 19 Advisory Committee call to the community
- Martin shared the list of survey participants who indicated an interest in participating in the advisory committee with Esther.
- Esther can be part of the recruitment. For example, making forum posts, creating and sending surveys, screening folks
Budget to be allocated by Dec 31, 2024
- Diversity Grant: $6,589 was not allocated. Martin will contact the Bocoup team to see if they can help with the 2024 year-in-review and 2025 goals-ahead publication.
- 23 Wikimedia: $3,739.89 a plan to update the training materials. If the funder does not allocate it to the trainer, it has been agreed to allocate it to WMSE for their support of the Commons extension.
