Post CZI

The report was made by Martin and Julie, who were present at the CZI event in Boston. Martin and Julie spent significant time networking to build relationships and partnerships with

  • other CS&S Fiscally Sponsor Project (CZI, IOI, Metadocia) and with Danielle Robinson from CS&S to better understand the operational changes at CS&S.

  • The Carpentries are interested in a better partnership with OpenRefine.

  • Meeting with Tom Morris in person for the first time.

  • neurobagel project at McGill University in Montreal for a potential partnership

  • CSCCE will discuss how to improve community management practices at OpenRefine.

CS&S Operations

With the domain registration migration from Google Domain to Wix, we had an issue with all the redirect emails, including the advisory committee email. Redirection was not functioning for a few days. We monitored and forwarded any missed communication.

CS&S is undergoing a reorganization in its Operations staff. Martin and the advisory committee are closely monitoring to ensure that all tasks related to OpenRefine are completed. For your reference, Martin has compiled a status update for each grant (see next section).

Grant Status

Wikimedia Grant:

  • PI: Sandra
  • Report due June 30, 2024
  • Grant End Date: December 15, 2024
  • Report from Sandra: Wikimedia Commons training and documentation grant: final report ready
  • Financial report due end of July (time to get the last invoices)
  • The remaining budget (USD2,750) will be used to update the documentation in the October and November follow-up WMSE development.
  • We will publish an addendum report (financial and development update) By January 30, 2025.

EOSS-5:

  • PI: Antonin
  • Report due January 1st 2025
  • Grant End Date: October 31, 2024
  • Next Steps:
    • Ask for a no-cost extension.
    • We should prepare a report for the no-cost extension

Post BarCamp

  • Martin has access to the video recording on the Zoom account.
  • Martin prepared a draft post-event survey. We reviewed it during the call and made corrections to shorten it.
  • Martin is preparing one summary of each session and blog post presenting the event.

Mission Vision Project with Bocoup

Following the Barcamp session, Bocoup presented an updated version of the draft mission, and vision. They are still working on the value part.
